The current pavilion of the Boughton & Eastwell Cricket Club is outdated and lacks essential amenities, such as hot water & heating, rendering it unfit for purpose. The club proposes to replace the existing structure with a modern, attractive timber pavilion on the same site. This new facility aims to serve not only the cricket club but also the broader community by providing a space for local clubs, groups, and events.
The existing pavilion, approximately 70 years old, has long been inadequate for the club's needs. Efforts to replace it have been ongoing for several years, with planning permission approved in 2023. Consistent fundraising efforts have so far secured £237,000 of the £300,000 required. The project is scheduled to commence in mid-September 2024, with a goal of completing construction by spring for use in the following summer.
Vision & Objectives
The vision for the new pavilion is to create a modern, multi-functional space that benefits players, supporters, and the wider community. Key objectives include:
Improved Facilities - Up-to-date changing rooms, showers, and amenities for players and officials.
Community Hub - A welcoming environment for social events, meetings, and community activities.
Accessibility - Ensuring the pavilion is accessible to all, including individuals with disabilities.

Community Engagement - A central venue for community events, fostering a sense of togetherness and belonging.
Revenue Generation - Hosting events and activities to create additional revenue streams, supporting the club's long-term sustainability.
Project Phases
The project will progress through several key phases:
Planning and Design - Collaborating with architects and designers to develop a pavilion that aligns with the club’s needs and vision.

Conclusion
The Boughton & Eastwell Cricket Club's New Pavilion Project is a transformative initiative designed to enhance the club's facilities and ensure its sustainability for future generations. By providing a modern, accessible, and eco-friendly pavilion, the project aims to benefit not only the cricket club but also the wider community, fostering a more connected and engaged local population. The successful completion of this project will mark a significant milestone in the club's history, ensuring it continues to play a central role in the community's sporting and social life.
